Rooftop Solar Installation (PM Surya Ghar)

Residential on-grid systems from 1 kW to 10 kW with central subsidy

Residential rooftop solar, done properly

A rooftop solar system only performs as well as its design. EcoHarbor Solar engineers every residential system around your actual consumption, roof orientation, shading and sanctioned load — then installs with protection and structure standards that most local installers skip.

What the process looks like

  1. Site survey: we measure the roof, note shading from trees, tanks and parapets, and check your sanctioned load on the electricity bill.
  2. Design and proposal: a written proposal with module and inverter brands, string layout, generation estimate and payback calculation.
  3. Subsidy application: we file your PM Surya Ghar application with your consumer number and follow the feasibility approval with MSEDCL.
  4. Installation: structure fabrication, module mounting, DC and AC cabling, inverter commissioning, earthing pit and lightning protection.
  5. Net-metering: inspection, bidirectional meter installation and export approval so unused units are credited to your bill.
  6. Service: module cleaning and health checks under our AMC so generation does not silently drop.

Sizing guidance

In Maharashtra a 1 kW rooftop system generates roughly 120 units a month. A typical Pune home consuming 350 units needs about 3 kW, which the central subsidy covers to the tune of ₹78,000.

If you are comparing quotations, ask each vendor for module make and wattage, inverter model, structure design, cable size, earthing details and who handles the net-metering file. Cheaper quotations usually cut exactly those line items.

Rooftop Solar Installation (PM Surya Ghar) FAQs

How much subsidy do I get on rooftop solar in Maharashtra?
Under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, residential consumers get ₹30,000 per kW up to 2 kW and ₹78,000 in total for 3 kW and above. The amount is credited directly to your bank account after installation and net-metering are completed.
How many units does a 3 kW solar system generate per month?
In Maharashtra a well-designed 3 kW rooftop system generates roughly 340–380 units per month across the year, higher in March–April and lower during the monsoon. That typically offsets most or all of a 2–3 BHK household’s consumption.
How long does installation take after I confirm?
Structural work and installation usually take 7–14 days for residential systems once material reaches your site. Net-metering approval and meter installation by MSEDCL typically add 3–6 weeks depending on the circle office workload.
Do you help with the PM Surya Ghar subsidy application?
Yes. We register your application on the national portal with your consumer number, follow up the feasibility approval with your DISCOM, submit the commissioning certificate and track the subsidy until it is credited to your bank account.
What is the difference between on-grid and hybrid solar?
An on-grid system exports surplus power and shuts down during a grid outage for safety. A hybrid system adds a battery bank so you keep running essential loads during outages while still enjoying net-metering credit for exported units.
Can I get a solar loan or EMI?
Yes. We prepare the project report and documentation for solar loans from SBI, Bank of Baroda, HDFC and NBFCs. A 3 kW system works out to roughly ₹2,450 per month over 60 months, which is usually less than the bill it replaces.
