PM-KUSUM Solar Water Pump Installation

1 HP to 10 HP solar pumps for farms, with subsidy documentation help

1 HP, 3 HP, 5 HP, 7.5 HP and 10 HP DC/AC pump setsSurface, submersible and openwell configurationsSolar array sizing based on your actual water head and daily requirement

Cut diesel and unreliable-feed irrigation permanently

Diesel pumps in Maharashtra cost ₹45–₹70 per hour to run. A solar pump for the same duty cycle runs on free sunlight for 20 years. That is why PM-KUSUM has become the most requested scheme among our farmer customers.

Choosing the right solar pump

The size you need depends on three numbers: total head (depth + height + pipe friction), daily water requirement in litres, and the solar window in your area. A 3 HP solar pump typically delivers 60,000–90,000 litres a day at 10–15 m head — enough for 3 to 5 acres of drip-irrigated horticulture.

Pump sizeSolar arrayTypical use
1 HP surface1.5 kWKitchen garden, small plot, tank filling
3 HP submersible3 kW3–5 acre farm with drip irrigation
5 HP submersible4.5–5 kW5–8 acres, borewell with 40–60 m head
7.5–10 HP7.5–10 kWFPO/common irrigation, lift irrigation schemes

We size the array with a 1.2x safety margin over the pump rating so the system still performs in the low-irradiance months of July and December.

Subsidy and paperwork

Eligible farmers, FPOs and cooperatives receive central and state assistance under PM-KUSUM components B and C. Our team helps you identify the correct component for your land holdings, prepares the documentation and coordinates with the implementing agency and empanelled vendor list.

PM-KUSUM Solar Water Pump Installation FAQs

How much subsidy do I get on rooftop solar in Maharashtra?
Under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, residential consumers get ₹30,000 per kW up to 2 kW and ₹78,000 in total for 3 kW and above. The amount is credited directly to your bank account after installation and net-metering are completed.
How many units does a 3 kW solar system generate per month?
In Maharashtra a well-designed 3 kW rooftop system generates roughly 340–380 units per month across the year, higher in March–April and lower during the monsoon. That typically offsets most or all of a 2–3 BHK household’s consumption.
How long does installation take after I confirm?
Structural work and installation usually take 7–14 days for residential systems once material reaches your site. Net-metering approval and meter installation by MSEDCL typically add 3–6 weeks depending on the circle office workload.
Do you help with the PM Surya Ghar subsidy application?
Yes. We register your application on the national portal with your consumer number, follow up the feasibility approval with your DISCOM, submit the commissioning certificate and track the subsidy until it is credited to your bank account.
What is the difference between on-grid and hybrid solar?
An on-grid system exports surplus power and shuts down during a grid outage for safety. A hybrid system adds a battery bank so you keep running essential loads during outages while still enjoying net-metering credit for exported units.
Can I get a solar loan or EMI?
Yes. We prepare the project report and documentation for solar loans from SBI, Bank of Baroda, HDFC and NBFCs. A 3 kW system works out to roughly ₹2,450 per month over 60 months, which is usually less than the bill it replaces.
